Kumar Manish

Kumar Manish is sustainable mobility advocate and works as communications &social media strategist. He is chief communicator at Communicate Karo, a social communications organization working for NGOs, government & academic institutions. He also runs Urban Voices, a communications & advocacy org dedicated to sustainable urban practices. He works on promotion of better walking, cycling and public transport facilities in our cities, among other social issues. He also consults UNICEFGujarat as social media and partnership consultant.He is also LegislativeFellow of US State Department. Kumar is also a Young Connectors of the Futurefrom South Asia by Swedish Institute, a public agency of Swedish Government. Heindependently advises to organization & institutes on strategic communications aspect and in past worked with international agencies asa communication officer. He writes for Sustainable Cities Collective &the City fix, two of the popular global blogging website on urban issues. Kumar Manish obtained his bachelor's degree in English literature from Delhi University, New Delhi. Later, he did his post-graduate diploma in journalism from Times School of Media Studies, Delhi and joined Ahmedabad edition of TIMES OF INDIA, a leading daily English newspaper of India. For over four years, he worked as a senior correspondent covering urban issues, developmental projects,traffic & transportation issues, environment and Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS). Kumar was awarded Centre for Science & Environment Media Fellowship, 2010 and Unnati fellowship for Development Journalism 2009. He was selected among 25 youth from South Asia for attending the T4T workshop on climate change by 350 org and Bangladesh Youth Climate Movement with support from British Council, Dhaka
